About Me
Artist Statement:
Hi, I’m Alexandra Phoenix aka "Crimson Creates”.
I've been wildly passionate about ancient history, lore, and mythos since childhood—drawn to the storytelling, spirituality, history, art, and
archaeology of ancient peoples for as long as I can remember.
Growing up in a diverse town in northern New Jersey, I was shaped by the cultures and perspectives of friends from around the world.
Plus, my big brother introduced me to comics, gaming, and martial arts; my mom nurtured my love of stories during long summers at Barnes & Noble. My sister’s eye for photography taught me to find art in everyday life, and my dad’s love for culture and food sparked a lifelong curiosity and appreciation for people and their stories.
The name Crimson Creates comes from a character I invented as a child—a phoenix-shaped creation goddess named Crimson. She’s stayed with me ever since, reminding me that creativity is both personal and sacred.
Artist Bio:
Alexandra Phoenix began her journey studying graphic design at a small college before transferring to the Illustration program at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. From there, she stepped into the New York art world, connecting with both local and international artists.
During the pandemic, with more time for creative exploration, she partnered with three other artists to launch an art book publishing project. Together, they brought in 60 artists from around the world. Alexandra served as the liaison between the artists and the internal team, while also taking on roles as brand designer, strategist, and interviewer.
She had the opportunity to interview some of her favorite artists, including Dave McKean and Angela Wang. In addition to writing interviews and blog content for the project’s website and social media, she curated playlists for artists to enjoy while working—shared through the project’s YouTube channel.
Alexandra’s love of art, business-building, branding, and storytelling naturally led her to take on freelance projects for emerging businesses. Her creative studio, Crimson Social, was born from a deep desire to support purpose-driven brands—especially those that aim to improve individual lives. Her client list ranged from security companies to cold plunge start-ups, all sharing a common thread of positive impact.
In her free time, Alexandra enjoys making zines, mobility training (a personal fitness passion), spending time with friends and family, and crafting visual mood boards to inspire her next project.
